The Warmth Matters project aims to tackle fuel poverty across Surrey by providing energy advice and assistance, from helping families struggling with energy bills payments to empowering individuals to take action, such as switching supplier, signing up for new grants and schemes, advice on tackling dampness and mould and help with enrolling onto the Priority Services Register.

Warm Matters run a friendly impartial helpline every Monday 10am-2pm. Call 07442 482284.

Ofgem is the official regulator for the energy industry. They set the guidelines and rules that energy companies have to follow. Their website has lots of information about energy including: complaints, meters, understanding your bill, power cuts and getting help if you’re struggling with costs. If your supplier goes out of business, Ofgem will publish important information on what to do next.

Simple Energy Advice have tips and guidance on energy efficiency measures and improvements to your home, and also tips to help reduce your energy costs. They have a quick efficiency calculator and information about grants to help you if you’re struggling.
