PAID STAFF
Alison Boyd – CEO
Alison is responsible for leading the work of the paid staff team and representing Citizens Advice Mole Valley externally. Her main duties include:-
- ensuring we achieve our organisational objectives
- ensuring Citizens Advice Mole Valley has the resources necessary to deliver its services efficiently and effectively and to secure long term viability
- developing and monitoring the implementation of new and existing policies and initiatives
Reports to the Trustee Board
Carol and Sue – Deputy Managers
Carol and Sue are responsible for the operation of the two offices in Dorking and in Leatherhead together with the associated outreach provision.
Their main duties include:
- managing and coordinating the advice service
- managing and supervising volunteer workers
- monitoring quality of advice given to clients
- ensuring that social policy issues are identified and acted upon as part of the advice-giving process
- taking responsibility for quality of services and staff/volunteer performance on a day to day basis
- in conjunction with the CEO, recruiting, selecting, developing and retaining volunteers and paid staff at the offices in Dorking and Leatherhead

Carol – Training Manager
Carol is responsible for planning and overseeing the delivery of training for volunteers and staff across Citizens Advice Mole Valley.
Her main duties include:
- delivering a range of training activities to staff and volunteers
- formulating an annual training and development plan and overseeing its delivery

Research and Campaigns Co-ordinator – Vacant
Sally – Advice Session Supervisor
Her main duties include:
- Supervising and supporting volunteers during advice sessions
- Reviewing debt cases and supporting advisers with debt advice
Julie – Advice Session Supervisor and Outreach Coordinator
Her main duties include:
- Supervising and supporting volunteers during advice sessions
- Manage and coordinate the Outreach project as funded by the Lottery Community Fund
- Develop relationships with community referral partners and outreach centres

Mark, Lucy and Jackie – Outreach Advisers
Our outreach advisers provide information, advice and assistance in a variety of different settings, reaching out to communities who may have difficulties accessing our offices in Dorking or Leatherhead. The advisers offer advice sessions in schools, churches, Sure Start Children’s centres and village halls, in towns and rural communities.

Jamie – Administration Officer
Jamie undertakes a range of administrative and support duties required to ensure smooth running of the offices and the Outreach project. His main duties include:
- creating and maintaining filing systems in accordance with systems and procedures
- responding to email, letters, documents and reports as required
- payment of invoices, monthly travel expenses and payments from end of the month reconciliation and statements
- maintain staff rota
- support in arranging events

TRUSTEE BOARD
Tim Prideaux – Chair of the Trustee Board
Tim is responsible for:
- ensuring effective leadership and direction of the organisation
- representing the organisation externally, communicating with key stakeholders, local authorities and other funders
- line management and regular liaison with the CEO
Steve Phillips – Treasurer
Steve is responsible for:-
- advising the board of trustees and sub committees of the financial consequences of any actions or plans
- ensuring that all financial affairs are in good order and advising the Board quarterly of the financial progress against the annual budget and on long-term financial planning.
- with the Company Secretary, ensuring that End of Year Reports and Accounts are prepared and properly filed in accordance with Company House and Charity Commission requirements
After gaining an engineering degree and business qualifications, Steve was an executive in the international energy sector working for blue chip energy companies and the consulting firm PWC in a variety of project, strategy, finance and business development roles. More recently he was an independent consultant to the energy sector and has now retired from full time work.
Phil Palmer – Company Secretary
Phil is responsible for:
- assisting with fundraising and business development initiatives
- raising public awareness of Citizens Advice Mole Valley and its activities
- supporting compliance and governance processes within CAMV
Alok Agarwal – Trustee
Alok is the IT consultant on the Trustee Board and Chair of the Infrastructure subcommittee. He has over 30 year’s experience of the IT sector in the UK and abroad. He is the Managing Director of a company providing IT consulting services to a list of International clients. He is responsible for:
- advising the Board on current and future IT strategy of the bureau
- provides advice on data protection and acts as the Data Protection Officer
Janice Persad – Trustee
Janice is responsible for HR matters and other areas.
Christine Smart – Trustee
Christine is responsible for research and campaigns liaison with Paul Clark, whilst also providing input on a range of matters like all trustees.
Sarah Marsh – Trustee
Formally a volunteer adviser, Sarah provides support and insight into the daily running of the advice team, amongst other areas.
